Jonathan Thomas (Geddy Lee) - Bass Guitar, Vocals

Picture
Jonathan began playing bass guitar at 13. His first bass had just  a "W" on the headstock and an action about an inch off the fretboard because of the way the neck was bolted to the body. Nonetheless not knowing any better, he continued to play in bands, and played songs by the Stones, The Who, The Clash, U2, Styx - pretty boring stuff. Was this what he wanted? Then his older brother brought home an album called "Moving Pictures" by a band he had never heard before called Rush. Who was this...this Rush? His brother practiced drums in the basement and Jonathan first heard Limelight through the floorboards and shag carpeting but was immediately impressed. Since then Jonathan has worshiped Geddy Lee and, much to his neighbor's discontent, presents a sweet and savory burnt offering of roadkill to him every morning in his charcoal grill in order to feel what he calls the "Geddy vibe."

Rob Wright (Alex Lifeson) - Guitar

Picture
Rob has been trying to figure out the guitar for nearly 30 years now and has managed to discover how to make some cool noises with it along the way. (He is still working on that...the not-cool noises come easily and effortlessly to him...) He started off as a very young noise-maker by listening to his dad's varied record collection and watching/listening to his dad's bands jamming at the house, sometimes tinkering with the various instruments that were left sitting around while the bands weren't there. (He was very careful with them.) He took to the drums at first, and they made a lot of noise. He then joined the school band and played trombone because no one else would, and besides, there were too many drummers anyhow. Rob became infatuated with the guitar from listening to the noises made by bands like Rush, Led Zeppelin, Rush, Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, Rush, etc. and finally got his first guitar at age 14. He ditched the trombone at age 16, and hasn't touched one since.

Peter Gaard (Neil Peart) - Drums

Picture
Peter has 30 years experience playing drums in a variety of local rock and funk bands. In his early years he honed his drumming chops with years of lessons with various teachers, constant practicing and study of music theory. Rush's drummer Neil Peart was a primary influence on Peter's style during his formative years so learning Rush's music for Exit Stage Right comes naturally. Peter founded the group Exit Stage Right last year to play the music he loved most from his youth and to take on the ambitious goal of learning the drum parts note-for-note from the original Rush recordings.
